A couple years ago,while stationed at Fort Knox,the wife and I were out sitting in our front yard on a lawn swing.Suddenly I saw a large shape coming out of the shadows on the side lawn.I thought at first it was our neighbor's Lab,who had been missing for a few days.Then a BIG mean nasty Rott emerged-snarling and just acting like it was having a REAL bad hair day-my wife kinda froze up-I coaxed her into the house-SLOWLY-and we went out back,which was fenced in,and warned my neighbor and his wife.They had small kids,and did'nt want them getting tore up.Then I called it in to the Fort Knox Military police,and my neighbor and I armed ourselves with improvised weapons.(my firearms were off post,in a storage unit,at the time).I grabbed a shovel,and my neighbor got a ball peen hammer.We met the young MP who responded,and the three of us went off to try to corral this dog.Well,we followed it up the street,and backed it into a cul-de-sac by one of the houses.My neighbor was given a pole with a loop on the end,to try to snare it-no luck.The MP then pepper sprayed it-with little effect.Joe,my neighbor,made one more attempt to snare it,at which point it charged him.The MP drew his pistol and shot it 4 times.Damn thing did'nt want to die.Joe and I bludgeoned it to death,and at that point,LOTS of guys were coming out of their houses with pistols and shotguns..(about TIME assholes).We spent the next hour filling out witness statements(good old red tape

)
The next day,the wife had to take our little pooch to the vet clinic-and the body of the dog was there-and the workers were pissing and moaning about the poor "puppy"That puppy was 79 pounds,and out of control.It was only a matter of time until it killed a child in the housing area.I felt no qualms at all about helping kill it.I love varmints,and have three of my own-but this dog was a menace.When I was telling my guys about it the next day at work,a young buck sergeant in my platoon said they should have shot the owner as well,as the dog COULD have been a good dog.I'm inclined to agree with him
